What spoke to me so deeply, what impressed me so much at Doron's last solo exhibition which was held only about a month ago?

Works from recent years were displayed there - bronze sculptures of female figures next to portrait drawings, and ink drawings of landscapes and still-life.
What makes a massive sculpture look like it was done using a thin brush? And what causes the brush to hover over a portrait figure and focus the viewer's eyes on the gaze? The other facial features already manage to express their spirit anyway. And no camera would ever presume to examine it. But the brush screams the personality out of the canvas. Wonder.

I noticed that many of the visitors were amazed by the ink drawings of the old Karkur houses and the thorns of the fields. Drawings playing on the capillaries of minimalism with the technique of ancient Chinese brushstrokes. What is the secret hidden in these drawings? Technical mastery? The trusting hand? The respect the artist expresses for the object - that is, the extraction of the essence, or the respect for the observer - that leaves it space to breathe, since, for a moment, the breath is indeed taken away. And the eye refuses to copy.

Doron Dahan is an artist born in Jerusalem, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of the Arts. I have been following her important work for years. In her bronze sculptures, Doron has developed a unique, mature artistic line with a “statement”.The figures Doron is sculpting are, after all, figures of powerful women, thinkers, aware of their femininity. The aesthetics are subdued, and the motifs are modern, universal. Abstract lines of women with uncompromising personalities.

The personal line of this artist appears in all the styles of expression she chooses to create. The style is singular with a personal and clear handprint. Her works excel at making us want to go back and look at them over and over again. And maybe that's the thing that spoke to me so deeply.
Doron has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Israel and abroad, and has been highly appreciated. Her works are purchased by collectors from Israel and the world.
